In electronics production, the structures and components are becoming smaller and smaller and the processes more and more sensitive. At the same time, companies dream of fully automatic, unattended production. The goals have long been set and the roadmaps have been created. In the near future, electronics production is to become a deserted place.
How can increasing process requirements and complete automation be combined? The answer is AI. AI was conceived to simulate human behaviour and decisions. In the past, this was only possible with the help of super computers. Today, the available computing power and intelligent application strategies give us new possibilities to use AI close to the manufacturing process. The advantage is obvious! Where people decide according to feeling and experience due to time pressure, the AI decision is based on hard facts and measured values. AI can only mimic the human decision, but within seconds, taking into account a large amount of data.
The webinar sheds light on the possibilities of using AI in an SMT line using the example of automatic measuring systems. A self-sufficient AI analyses the collected measurement data taking into account the current production parameters and independently carries out optimizations. Or AI algorithms that differentiate between components and designs for fast program creation. Right up to self-learning defect detection.
