The transparent production  

We are used to analysing our processes with statistic tools. SPC is the common standard in our SMT industry. MES systems are tracing the production data and yield. Line-Monitoring S/W visualizes the state and utilization of our production equipment and the yield of our lines.

All these tools are useful, but to drill down from an alert on one of these systems to the root cause on your production machine is still a lot of effort. Or simply not possible, because not all measurement and process data were transferred to these systems.

Since we discuss the future of production by applying Industry 4.0 concepts and implementing the Internet of Things [IoT], we think bigger. Users like to access their production data from every place, with all kind of mobile devices. As we can solve problems in different ways the tools have to support different solution of reporting and visualization to drill down the data to the root cause of a process disturbance. In a future where we have less people at our production lines, the solutions must be efficient and fast.
